How To Set Face Time On iPod Touch

All the features of the iPhone The iPod Touch is often referred to as the “iPhone without the phone”. An important difference between the two is the iPhone’s ability to connect to cellular phone networks. iPhone users can have FaceTime video chats. The iPod Touch only has Wi-Fi, but Touch owners will get FaceTime as long as they are connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Before you start making video calls to people around the world, you need to know a few things about setting up and using FaceTime.

Requirements

To use FaceTime on the iPod Touch you need:

  • Fourth generation iPod touch or newer
  • Apple ID
  • A connection to a Wi-Fi network
  • Someone who uses FaceTime to call.

What is your FaceTime phone number?

Unlike the iPhone, the iPod Touch did not assign a phone number to it. So, typing on a phone number is not a problem for someone to make a face-timing call with one touch. Instead, you need to use something in place of a phone number to allow the devices to communicate.

In this case, your Apple ID and the associated email address will be used. That’s why it’s so important to log in with your Apple ID during device setup. And a bunch of FaceTime, iCloud, IMAX and a bunch of other web-based services don’t know how to connect your touch.

Configuring FaceTime

In recent years, Apple’s timing has been so easily tagged as 4-gen. Touch was introduced first. Now, FaceTime is enabled as part of the process of setting up your device. As long as you sign in with your Apple ID as part of the setup process, you will be automatically configured to use FaceTime on your device.

If FaceTime does not turn on during setup, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the Settings app
  2. Turn your face and scroll down and tap
  3. Enter your password and sign in
  4. Review email addresses configured on FaceTime. Tap to select or remove them, then tap Next.

Adding FaceTime addresses

FaceTime uses your Apple ID based on a phone number, which means that people with an email ID associated with your Apple ID can show you your face for your touch. Instead of typing in a phone number, they will give you an email address, tap call, and talk to you that way.

You can add multiple email addresses to work with FaceTime. This can be helpful if you have multiple emails and use an email with all the Apple IDs you need to facetime.

In this case, you can add more email addresses to FaceTime by following these steps:

  1. Tap the Settings app
  2. Turn your face and scroll down and tap
  3. You can scroll down to FaceTime: section, tap Add another mail
  4. Type the email address you want to add
  5. If you are asked to log in with your Apple ID, do so
  6. You should check to use this new email for FaceTime (this is a security measure to prevent someone stealing your iPod Touch from receiving your FaceTime calls ).

Can be verified by email or another device with the same Apple ID (I got a pop-up on my Mac, for example). When you receive a verification request, accept additional permission.

Now, you can use any of the email addresses listed here for FaceTime.

Changing caller ID for FaceTime

When you start a FaceTime video chat, your caller ID shows up on your personal device so they know who they’ve chatted with. On the iPhone, the caller ID is your name and phone number. Since Touch does not have a phone number, it uses your email address.

  1. Tap the Settings app
  2. Turn your face and scroll down and tap
  3. Scroll down to Caller ID

How to Enable FaceTime

Disable seduction time

If you want to turn off FaceTime permanently, or for a longer period of time, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the Settings app
  2. Swipe down to FaceTime. Tap it
  3. Move face time slider off / white.

To enable it again, move the Face Theme slider to On / Green.

If you want to turn off FaceTime for FaceTime when you’ve been to a meeting or meeting, do not Disturb FaceTime (this prevents phone calls and push notifications).
